Happy Thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving weekend rocked! My grad student friends and I get together every year for Turkey Day and take turns hosting. The host is responsible for the bird and everyone else brings the side dishes. Its a fantastic way to relax and be with the people you care about (besties) who don't drive you crazy (family). Dinner was absolutely delicious, as well as the homemade hard cider. My GERD/stomach behaved the entire evening and was only somewhat thwarted with that last glass of cider, he he. Nothing a couple tablets of Pepto couldn't cure, thank goodness! This year we were a little more nostalgic than usual since this will likely be the last Thanksgiving that all of us are together. Many folk are finishing up their PhD's this year and going out on the market and others might just be changing venue's for their last year in the program. I've been very fortunate to have been acquainted with such wonderful people and look forward to many more years of friendship even if we aren't all down the street from each other. :)

The day after Thanksgiving was just as awesome b/c of mine and M-dog's tradition of putting up my Christmas lights outside and decorating the tree inside. She's employed by The Boyfriend to keep an eye on me so I don't buy too many Christmas lights or make the house look like a landing strip for all incoming Tucson flights. My Christmas tree looks gorgeous due to her help and I'm hoping next year she'll come visit me for Thanksgiving and the day after so we can continue our tradition.

The rest of the weekend activities included finishing my Christmas blanket for the couch (I'll post pics later), purchasing all but one of my Christmas gifts for folk, a doggy visit from Rickey, a Sat morning at the Aveda Institute getting my hair done for free (gift certificate :) ) and an afternoon of four square with my homies. It was a great 4 day weekend and now I'm hungry for Christmas break, lol. I really can't wait to see mine and The Boyfriend's family!
